Lit.Poems

Silver

That gorgeous, emerald green field,

my scarlet, happy love;

Love is like a silvery Hans,

who protects everyone like a hand in a glove.

I bask in the warm, marigold sun,

that shines through all of my azure misery;

Happiness feels like a speedy, silvery Rudy,

who dashes like he's being chased by angry bees.

The night's sky is the same hue as death,

while pink's the color of happy souls;

Peace is like my silvery death,

which will carry me away, over that beautiful knoll.

The Book Thief

Liesel

Thinking, Loving, Brave, Stealing

Who loves her comrades

Who feels sympathy for all the Jews

Who needs to read and steal a book

Who shares the grief for her dead family

Who fears being hated by her Papa

Who'd like to see her family again

Who dreams of a happy ending

Who ends up being a true survivor
